We are ecstatic to be kicking off our Fall series with Steve Lehman, performing with his new trio. Garden of Klōns is Los Angeles-based trio featuring three world-renowned improvisers and composers: Steve Lehman on alto saxophone and effects, Cory Smythe on augmented piano, and returning Goodbye Look champion Jonathan Pinson on expanded drum set. As an ensemble, their work explores the intersection of otherworldly harmonies and propulsive, meticulously crafted rhythms.
Steve is a singular voice, both as a saxophonist and as a composer, whose performances explore new musical universes while still remaining deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. It’s going to be transcendent to see this band within the intimate confines of the Recreational Psychoacoustics Lab, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you all back to The Goodbye Look.
One note: base tickets are for standing room, and there will be a limited number of guaranteed seats for a slightly higher ticket price. We encourage you to purchase these tickets early as the capacity for this venue is both strict and limited.
